"Convergence has come to my attention mainly through the Truman Media Network, which involves students from the Truman Index, KTRM and News 36 coming together to cover events on campus and in the community.  These students do not have to be experts in both print and journalism, but a degree in journalism at Truman requires them to take classes in both areas, making them more well-rounded and better equipped to work in convergent journalism.  I have worked for KTRM and the Index and appreciated the opportunities that this school presents for approaching journalism from all angles.  Some people may shy away from convergence, but I welcome it because I see the benefit of combining strengths of each outlet to provide more unified coverage, and students at Truman certainly receive adequate training to work competently in both print and broadcasting."
