Students Win Media Awards
The Missouri Broadcast Educators Association (MBEA) has
announced that Truman State communication students have earned nine awards
in the 2008 MBEA student media contest. The MBEA competition, held
annually, recognizes student work in video, audio, and multi-media.
TSU student award winners include:
-Ben Yarnell, First Place, Audio Commercial;
-Jackson Groves, First Place, Audio Public Service Announcement;
-Amanda Boyle, First Place, Audio Documentary, "Jazz Festival";
-Ben Yarnell/Jackson Groves, Honorable Mention, Audio Documentary, "ROTC";
-Kyle Magee, First Place, Audio Feature, Truman Media Network Convergence
Package;
-Chelsey Cole, Honorable Mention, Audio Feature, "Kids Corner";
-Kyle Magee (and fellow announcers), First Place, Radio Play-by-Play,
Truman Volleyball;
-Kyle Magee (and fellow announcers), Honorable Mention, Radio
Play-by-Play, Truman Volleyball;
-Laura Prather, Honorable Mention, Convergent Journalism, "Students Hop On Board

These programs were broadcast on KTRM (FM) and posted online on the Truman Media Network website. Congratulations to our student winners who will receive their certificates during the MBEA awards luncheon on Saturday June 7 in Kansas City. The MBEA event is held simultaneously with the Missouri Broadcasters Association annual convention. Students can attend MBA sessions and interact with broadcast professionals.
