Prospective Students Visit Communication
Dozens of potential students and their families interacted with communication faculty and Truman State University (TSU) students during the campus-wide Visit Day on January 26.  As part of an informal social event, faculty fielded questions from prospective students.  During two formal presentations, faculty explained the course curriculum, the implementation of the convergent Truman Media Network, and the importance of internships.  TSU student representatives from Detours, the Index, News 36 and KTRM (FM) discussed the exciting and lasting benefits of involvement in student media.  A member of the TSU Advertising and Public Relations reminded potential students of opportunities in that campus organization.

Faculty and students escorted our visitors on a tour of the renovated media, forensics, and classroom facilities in Barnett Hall.  The multi-million dollar renovation includes a convergent media center, HD (digital) radio station with new production facilities, a digital video editing suite, public speaking lab and forensics facility.  Construction of a new television studio and control room is on the horizon.
