Communication majors must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0. No grade of “D” in major courses will be accepted toward the major or minor. Students must complete the Bachelor of Arts degree requirements for the Liberal Studies Program, the Missouri Statute requirement and demonstrate intermediate proficiency in a foreign language in addition to the requirements set out below. Students must complete the requirements set out for all majors, as well as specialize in one of three emphases: Communication Studies, Public Communication or Journalism, plus complete sufficient electives to total 39 hours in the major.
