Index
The Index has received both national and state awards recognizing the 102-year-old newspaper for its continued excellence.

In 2011, Missouri College Media Association named the Index, Truman State University’s student-produced newspaper, the best college newspaper in the state, and the College Media Advisers awarded the Index third place in the national Apple Awards.

In addition, The Index competed with nearly 30 schools to place third nationally at the CMA Apple Awards in 2011. The Index has placed first at the Apple Awards five times since 2003, most recently in 2010.

Detours
Detours is a Midwest travel magazine featuring unique faces and places in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois. Produced by students at Truman State University, Detours is published twice a year in the winter and summer. Each issue highlights colorful characters and one-of-a-kind locales off the beaten path. Detours has won an Apple Award for Best Collegiate General Interest Magazine in 2006 and 2007 from the College Media Advisers organization.  But the awards don't stop there.  Detours won a Pacemaker award for its Spring 2006 issue, too.

Truman Media Network
Truman student media come together in a convergence medium, through the Truman Media Network to determine how to best tell stories, especially "big" stories.  Because media consumers access information from various media (TV, radio, print, Internet), TMN is a "real world" learning lab that mirrors industry movement to telling stories on multiple media platforms.  In the past two years, KTRM, NEWS 36, and the Index, under the TMN umbrella, have come together to report Missouri elections and the 2008 Iowa caucuses. Once again, students and advisers will cover the 2012 Iowa caucuses to provide "real life" experiences for students.
